Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton increased her lead over Republican nominee Donald Trump in the latest NBC News/SurveyMonkey poll published Tuesday.
Clinton leads by 6 percentage points in the four-way match-up , up one point from last week’s NBC poll. Clinton earned 46 percent, and Trump fell one point to 40 percent support. Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson earned 8 percent, and Green Party candidate Jill Stein increased her share of likely voters by 1 point to earn 4 percent.
Clinton’s lead expands in the two-way poll, with Clinton earning 51 percent, compared to Trump’s 43 percent.
Forty-six percent of men support Trump, along with 34 percent of women. Clinton earned a majority of women, with 52 percent supporting the Democratic candidate. Thirty-nine percent of men also support Clinton.
Clinton did well with women of all age groups, but had a much higher lead with women voters under 30, earning a 30 percent lead over Trump in that category. Clinton only carried women over 65 by 6 percentage points, earning 49 percent compared to Trump’s 43 percent support.
Trump’s lead with men only comes from those aged 45 and up. He trails Clinton by one point with male voters between the ages of 30 and 44, and by 5 percent with male voters under 30.
The Real Clear Politics polling average gives Clinton a 7-point lead against Trump and Johnson. Clinton earned 46 percent, Trump earned 39 percent, and Johnson earned 6.4 percent in the average.
The poll was conducted from Oct. 10 through Oct. 16, and included 24,804 likely voters. The margin of error for the online poll is 1 percentage point in either direction.
