The IDOL 4S with Windows 10 launched on T-Mobile for $469, before its price was slashed, and the device was eventually discontinued. But you can now get the high-end handset for just $272.99.
Last November, T-Mobile launched the Alcatel IDOL 4S with Windows 10, a flagship-class Windows phone priced at $469 – far less than HP’s top-of-the-line Elite x3. The Alcatel device was also the first Windows 10 Mobile device to include virtual reality support, shipping with its own VR headset.
But just six months after its launch, and after T-Mobile had slashed its price to $288 for more than two months, the carrier dropped the device from its range in April. The unlocked IDOL 4S with Windows 10 remained available to purchase elsewhere, including Amazon, where it was available for as little as $284.
Now, Amazon has reduced the price of the unlocked handset even further; it’s now available for just $272.99, including the VR Goggles. That’s a huge savings compared with buying it from the Microsoft Store, which is continuing to sell the phone-and-headset bundle for $470.

In February, Alcatel announced plans to sell the device in Europe as the IDOL 4 Pro. Despite featuring identical specs and styling to its US counterpart, the handset will cost a lot more in Europe, where it will be priced at €599 EUR (roughly $670 USD) .
