The Saudis and other world leaders have Trump’s number. Simply flatter the man-child and he will give you whatever.

This will be a much better trip than President Obama’s apology tour where he was in a dither because he felt the USA was overbearing and not humble enough. He no doubt had good intentions, but we all know that good intentions aren’ t good enough.
—Peter Siano Sr.
All those promises on the campaign trail and strong language only to watch him bow to convention when he is faced with the reality of the problems. Meanwhile, his admirers, who continually gloss over the gross inconsistencies from his campaign rhetoric to his current actions, look on thinking the emperor actually has on clothes.

This is the kind of leader we need. One who goes into the heart of Islam and calls it out.

The president gave a speech in Saudi Arabia that was way more moderate than the angry, anti-Islam invective that he had been spewing throughout his campaign.
Some conservatives, who would like to believe that the mendacious narcissist is actually a normal, rational president, are celebrating his reading all the way through the prepared speech without going all wicky-wacky.
The question remains, however, if he can pivot so completely after spending so much time spewing hateful, divisive statements, can one believe that he won’ t just pivot again, from this apparently normal speech? At any time, in any moment, he will say whatever he’s thinking, with no internal consistency to guide him, except for his need for attention and adulation.

President Trump is in Saudi Arabia, and he is talking about a $110 billion deal with the Saudis that may have a huge, benefit for both countries.
By comparison, now maybe we all can see how bad it was for former president Barack Obama to make some of the non-beneficial deals he made during his presidency.

We asked readers what they thought of Trump’s speech in Saudi Arabia. Tweets edited for clarity and grammar:
He has no moral authority after spending the last year-and-a-half failing to stand up to extremists who support him.

From anyone else this would be a good statement. But his words ring hollow after travel ban and previous statements.
—@MykeInDestin
It was a very Bush/Obama speech. The only good thing is he didn’ t start a war because of it.
—@NANNA5064
His speech was spot on.
