First episode of Sean Bean's new BBC drama Broken is pulled from schedules in wake of Manchester terror attack

Sean Bean’s new BBC drama Broken has been pulled from schedules following the horrific terror attack in Manchester on Monday night, with a repeat of David Attenborough’s Planet Earth II to replace the show.
The much-anticipated show was due to start on Tuesday, yet BBC bosses postponed the launch for a week in light of the atrocity, that killed at least 22 people and left more that 119 injured.
A statement was released in the wake of the attack, where a suicide bomber, named as British Libyan Salman Abedi, targeted gig-goers at an Ariana Grande concert, in which bosses announced the show would be pulled from the guide.

The six-part Jimmy McGovern drama, which also stars Anna Friel, has been pulled from TV schedules in the wake of last night’s terrorist attack.
A statement from the BBC read: ‘Following last night’s tragic events in Manchester, BBC1’s new drama series Broken will not start tonight as planned but has been rescheduled for next Tuesday 30 May’.

Broken joins a number of programmes to be drawn from schedules, including Andrew Neil’s interview with UKIP leader Paul Nuttall. The decision to reschedule comes after it was agreed to suspend general election coverage for 24 hours.
Broken tells the tale of Father Michael Kerrigan, a Catholic Priest in Northern England, who is struggling with balancing being a counsellor and confessor while also living out his own woes.
