An unidentified child was reportedly shot near the Tokyo Express restaurant at 3225 Guess Road early Sunday evening.
Durham Police Department spokesman Wil Glenn issued the following statement at 6: 36 p.m. Sunday:
“The Durham Police Department is investigating a shooting that injured a young child. The shooting happened Sunday afternoon shortly after 5 p.m. near the 3200 block of Guess Road. Officers responded to a shooting call and upon arrival they discovered the child who was possibly shot while inside a vehicle.
“A follow-up investigation is underway and additional information will be provided.”
The extent of the child’s injuries and other details were not immediately available.
