Japan FTC ends probe of Amazon Japan over alleged unfair practice

The Japan Fair Trade Commission said Thursday it will end its investigation of Amazon Japan G. K. over its alleged imposition of restrictive business terms on products sellers in the Amazon online marketplace in violation of the antimonopoly law.
The Japan Fair Trade Commission said Thursday it will end its investigation of Amazon Japan G. K. over its alleged imposition of restrictive business terms on products sellers in the Amazon online marketplace in violation of the antimonopoly law.
The move comes as the Japanese unit of U. S. online retail giant Amazon.com Inc. has promised the FTC that it will adopt improvement measures on a voluntary basis, including withdrawing from questionable deals.
