In collaboration with Archos, Kodak has announced two Android tablets for the European market. The devices, starting at €79.99, offer ordinary specifications, with dedicated apps for image editing.
Earlier this year, imaging firm Kodak announced that it was collaborating with multinational tech company Archos to launch tablets carrying the former’s branding, as a part of a new licensing agreement. Kodak, which was once considered a premium name, has become largely irrelevant now. After emerging from its bankruptcy protection phase, the company has tried its hand in other tech sectors, with the launch of its IM5 and Ektra smartphones.
The reveal of two Kodak-branded tablets appears to be the firm’s latest bid to stay afloat in the highly-competitive field of technology.
While the Android tablets carry the once-premium name of Kodak, many will be disappointed to know that the devices carry fairly ordinary specifications. They are encased in a black and yellow cover, usually associated with Kodak, and feature a “brilliant” IPS HD screen. The configurations of the two devices are as follows:
In addition, Kodak has also packed in pre-loaded apps dedicated for image editing and processing, including Photo Director, YouCam Perfect, and Google Snapseed.
The 7- and 10.1-inch tablets will be available at Archos’ retail partners for €79.99 and €119.99 respectively towards the end of June 2017.
