The 2017 MTV Video Music Awards nominations are in… and it’s all about Kendrick Lamar this year!
Kendrick Lamar leads the way with a whopping eight nominations for his music video for “HUMBLE.” Katy Perry and The Weeknd are tied for five each.
Perry snagged two nominations for her upbeat summer hit “Chained To The Rhythm, ” including Best Pop video. Meanwhile, The Weeknd scored several nominations for “Reminder, ” including “Best Art Direction” and “Best Visual” effects.
Lamar will compete with several big names for the coveted “Video of the Year” award — Bruno Mars for “24K Magic, ” Alessia Cara for “Scars To Your Beautiful, ” DJ Khaled for “Wild Thoughts” and The Weeknd for “Reminder.”
This year’s nominations were announced exclusively on Instagram Live by an elite squad of social media stars, including Chantel Jeffries and Nate Garner.
