The fourth and latest software update for the OnePlus 5, OxygenOS 4.5.5, was just released, and it brings a number of improvements and bug fixes that should enhance the user experience. Here’s what’s new.
In terms of improvements, OnePlus says that OxygenOS 4.5.5 optimizes the Wi-Fi connectivity, makes voice calling clearer, decreases battery consumption when recording video, and makes the vibration intensity for calls “gentler.”
On the bug fix side of things, the Wi-Fi signal should no longer be consistently displayed as weak and more apps should work better with IPv6 network settings. OnePlus adds that users should turn off USB debugging (which is part of Developer options) before applying the update in order to restore connectivity to a Windows 10 PC.
OnePlus 5 users will gradually receive OxygenOS 4.5.5, as is common for new software updates, but if you want to get it as soon as possible you can try a VPN app like OperaVPN and select Canada as the country of choice in the app, according to user reports.
