Former White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus said in an interview Saturday that seeing Justice Neil Gorsuch confirmed to the Supreme Court was his proudest accomplishment in the White House.
Speaking to Sirius XM’s Breitbart News Saturday, Priebus told Raheem Kassam that Gorsuch will make changes to America’s judicial system that will resonate for decades to come.
“I would have to say Neil Gorsuch, because [that] actually could change lives for the next 40 years, and he’s also set, I think, in motion a change in shift in the federal judiciary that is going to affect our kids for the good, ” Priebus said. “So I know that has to be the biggest thing.”
Priebus also praised President Trump’s other judicial appointments, which he said had gotten little coverage by the mainstream media.
“It’s been an incredible six months, ” Priebus told Breitbart. “And I haven’t even gotten to the judges that he’s been putting together. The judges that have already been out of the door.”
“We’ve got a president that cares about the things that he’s said and believes in, ” Priebus added.
“He’s unshakable in the sense that he believes the things he says when he goes out and campaigns or when he does a speech, and that belief doesn’t – it doesn’t come out of his head – he’s just consistent in his view and beliefs of the things that he says, ” he said.
Priebus was dismissed after new White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci accused him of leaking information to the press in a vulgar interview with the New Yorker. He was replaced by Homeland Security Sec. John Kelly.
The former RNC chair called Kelly a “brilliant” pick for chief of staff, and said he thinks “it’s a good time to hit the reset button” at the White House.
