Senate Still Hoping to Repeal Obamacare Without a Replacement

Senate Republicans don’t have enough votes to pass a health-care reform bill, and so will vote “sometime in the near future” simply on whether to repeal Obamacare, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell told journalists this afternoon, the Hill reports. But that plan also looks doomed: Three senators, Shelley Moore Capito (R-West Virginia) , Susan Collins (R-Maine) , and Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) , all said they wouldn’t agree to repeal the Affordable Care Act without a replacement, which means a repeal doesn’t have enough votes to pass, either, the New York Times reports.
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump said he wants to “let Obamacare fail, ” in order to bring Democrats to the policymaking table.
