Snapchat update brings new tools and fun voices to its app

If you are a Snapchat user, you’ll be happy to know that the firm has updated its app with new tools for making Snaps more interesting, along with adding the ability to change one’s own voice.
Snapchat has come a long way from just a year ago. The firm has integrated Bitmojis into the app after its successful purchase of BitStrips, debuted its first piece of hardware with Spectacles, and more importantly has become a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange. While it has certainly been a busy year for the firm, the popularity with millennials has unfortunately not boosted the price of its falling shares.
Luckily, the firm has brought new innovations to the social app, with it just last week offering an update that allows the creation and payment of custom geofilters from within the app itself. Now, the firm has once again updated the app, introducing some new tools that should bring tons of summer fun for Snapchatters everywhere.
Backdrop is a new tool that will allow users to trace an object from a Snap, apply a fun background, and have it not get applied to the object that was traced. This will certainly add more fun to the image, putting more emphasis on the object, but also giving a bit more style to what might otherwise be a bland environment.
The Paperclip feature allows you to attach a website to a Snap making it easier for friends to communicate using links. This has been previously used by partners with their ads but is now available to anyone on the service. Simply take a Snap, click the paperclip icon on the right-hand side, and type in your website. Once the browser pulls up what you want them to see, you can attach it and send it away. Remember, this does use the internal Snapchat browser so you might not want to send an intensive site as the browser will tend to lag and perform sluggishly.
Lastly, there is a new voice alteration tool that will allow you to now customize the way your voice sounds in a clip. You will have a few different options from the more popular and recently used chipmunk, as well as new alien and robot filters. The new update is available for iOS and Android.
