No more solar eclipse glasses at New Orleans libraries

All of the hot-ticket item were quickly given way Saturday morning, a library spokesman said.
The New Orleans Public Library has given away all of the solar eclipse glasses, a library official said Saturday afternoon. The library branches had a limited number of glasses and they went in record time.
The library branches have been fielding phone calls and queries about the availability of the glasses, John Marc Sharpe, the library’s marketing and communications director said in an email.
“Within 20 minutes of opening this morning every location had handed out all of them, it was really something to see how quickly they went, ” he said.
The Friends of the New Orleans Library bought a limited supply of glasses that have been in high demand in advance of Monday’s historical solar eclipse.
