Networks and stars band together for Hurricane Harvey telethon

ABC, FOX, NBC and CBS will stream the event live on Facebook.
ABC, FOX, NBC and CBS are coming together to host a multi-network telethon to benefit those affected by Hurricane Harvey.
The telethon, which has been named “Hand in Hand: A Benefit for Hurricane Harvey Relief”, will take place Tuesday, Sept. 12 in Los Angeles, Nashville and New York, and will stream live on Facebook from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. ET. The broadcast will then air in each time zone during that slot.
“Hand in Hand” is being organized by the same people behind Ariana Grande ‘s Manchester benefit performance, including Scooter Braun, that was held after a terrorist attack at her concert killed 22 people.
The broadcast will feature appearances, performances and taped tributes from stars such as George Clooney, Jamie Foxx, Karlie Kloss, Beyoncé, Matt Lauer, Rob Lowe, Matthew McConaughey, Julia Roberts, Kelly Rowland, Michael Strahan, Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon and more.
Texan Foxx teased the telethon on Instagram last week.
“My heart goes out, my prayers go out, ” Foxx said in the video, in which he also revealed he donated $25,000. “Sept. 12, we have a telethon that we’ re doing. We’ ll give you more details, where we can raise as much money as we can for everybody down there.”
Houston rapper Bun B also previously told the Associated Press that he was helping Braun work out the logistics of the event .
