Nintendo fans rejoice! The NES Classic is coming back

Nintendo today announced it was bringing back the NES Classic, its popular-but-rare retro console that was discontinued earlier this year.

The unexpected stopgap console that grabbed fan attention before the release of the Nintendo Switch proved to be far more popular than the company’s foundering Wii U. Nintendo seemed to let it slip in the announcement of the Famicom Mini ‘s cancellation that it might bring either or both consoles back, but gave no further details. Famicom Mini
In addition, Nintendo will be making more of its SNES Classic console for consumers. Specifically, it’s making more SNES Classics than it did NES Classics last year. According to a spokesperson, “Fans have shown their unbridled enthusiasm for these Classic Edition systems, so Nintendo is working to put many more of them on store shelves.”
While the NES Classic won’ t be rereleased until next summer, the SNES Classic comes out on September 29.
