Online lender SoFi launches probe into sexual harassment claims

Online lender Social Finance Inc said on Friday that it was investigating claims of sexual harassment that emerged in a lawsuit.
(Reuters) – Online lender Social Finance Inc said on Friday that it was investigating claims of sexual harassment that emerged in a lawsuit.
The company, known as SoFi, has engaged outside attorneys to investigate the claims, Chief Executive Mike Cagney said in a note to employees, posted on the company’s blog. bit.ly/2wZv3VN
Cagney said they had discovered that several people were prepared to formally allege they were victims of or witnesses to “improper activity” at the company’s Healdsburg, California, operations office.
“To be blunt, that kind of behavior has no place at SoFi, and we’ re not going to tolerate it, ” Cagney wrote in the note.
He did not elaborate on the details of the lawsuit.
The lawsuit, filed in August, related to wrongful termination of an employee and sexual or inappropriate comments about women made by a manager, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal. on.wsj.com/2wqPtFv
