Susanna Niemiec is charged with deliver of a controlled substance causing death
MANISTEE, MI — A 45-year-old Manistee woman has been charged in connection with the overdose death of a 23-year-old man.
Susanna Lee Niemiec was arraigned Wednesday, Sept. 20 in Manistee County District Court on a charge of delivery of a controlled substance causing death.
The charge carries a potential penalty of life in prison.
State police say Niemiec was charged after a lengthy investigation into the February death of a 23-year-old man in the 2300 block of Filer City Road in Filer Township.
He died of a suspected overdose.
Police said the case was reviewed by county prosecutors after detectives received an autopsy report and conducted several interviews.
