We dig up the best Black Friday offers around for the Xbox One S and the new Xbox One X, including great deals on games and accessories.
Black Friday is looming over us once again, as everyone resists the urge to buy, well, just about anything until the big day rolls around and everything hopefully gets discounted.
That’s true for gaming as much as anything else, and we’re expecting price drops almost across the board for Xbox One consoles, games, and accessories, especially as Microsoft fights to reclaim market share from Sony’s dominant PlayStation 4.
We’ll have to wait for Black Friday 2017 to arrive on 24 November to get all the best offers, but plenty of deals are online already, and we’ve rounded up a few of the best Xbox One deals right now to tide you over – and head to our deals site to find more of our curated picks.
The biggest discounts are likely to be on the Xbox One S, as Microsoft does its best to position its staple Xbox as the year’s budget console. You can already get 500GB console bundles for just £200 occasionally, so we’re expecting to see that console, along with games, for £180 or even less.
The best bundles we’ve seen so far actually cost a little more than that, but offer a lot more in return. Currys is offering the Xbox One S with four games – including the new Star Wars: Battlefront II – or you can throw in a fifth game for just £10 more. Currys also has other bundles including spare controllers and Xbox Live memberships, so take the time to check those out before you commit.
Of course, the big news this year is the Xbox One X. Since it only launches in November, we’d be surprised if there were any Black Friday discounts – especially since stock is likely to be restricted. Look out for good bundles though – you might be able to get the new console with a couple of games for less than £500 with a bit of luck – we’ve already featured one bundle along those lines above, so Black Friday should bring along some more.
Otherwise, just look out for the best games on sale – keep an eye out for big autumn 2017 games down to £30 or less – like Game’s offer of the new Wolfenstein 2 for £30 – and games from earlier in the year or 2016 down to below the £10 line.
Of course, it won’t end with Black Friday. Deals will arrive throughout Black Friday week, and continue over the weekend to Cyber Monday on 27 November – and in some cases through to the end of the month, or even beyond into the Christmas season.
Most major game retailers will be doing big discounts for Black Friday, along with just about anywhere else that sells games.
Amazon launched its discounts early, with Black Friday offers starting on Friday 17 November, so keep an eye on the site this week for the latest deals. Argos and Currys have also already launched their offers.
If you’ve found that you’re missing out on Amazon’s Lightning deals, which run for just a few hours and offer limited stock, we’d recommend signing up for Amazon’s 30 day free trial of Prime, which will get you access to deals 30 minutes before everyone else.
