“Are you going to be a good girl?”
Rep. Jackie Speier (D-CA) dropped a Harvey Weinstein-like bomb on Congress on Tuesday.
The congresswoman recently started the Twitter hashtag #MeTooCongress to get information on colleagues who sexually harass people on Capitol Hill.
Speier said that she was a victim of sexual harassment as a staffer on Capitol Hill many years ago.
During a House committee meeting on Capitol Hill on Tuesday, Speier announced:
“In fact, there are two members of Congress, Republican and Democrat, right now, who serve, who have… engaged in sexual harassment.”
She didn’t name the harassers but did provide a few lowlights:

The Hill reported that Speier’s remarks came soon after Rep. Linda Sanchez (D-CA) also said she was “ogled” and inappropriately touched by another representative.

Rep. Barbara Comstock (R-Va.), a member of the House Administration Committee, said she had heard of an unidentified male lawmaker who exposed himself to a young female staffer.
According to Comstock, the lawmaker asked the staffer to bring materials to his residence. He opened the door in only a towel, invited the staffer inside and proceeded to expose himself.
The staffer subsequently quit, Comstock said.
Speier is trying to pass a law to force members of Congress and their staff to be put through sexual harassment training.
Apparently, a few of them could use a refresher course.
