After months of leaks, HTC has finally unveiled a new standalone VR headset dubbed as Vive Focus. It was unveiled through Vive Developers Conference that was held in Beijing, China. Even though the Taiwanese firm has officially introduced the Vive Focus VR headset, it has not disclosed its specifications. Also, the company is yet to confirm on the pricing of the new VR headset.
Vive Focus VR headset can be mounted on the head. It features a high-resolution AMOLED screen and it is fueled by Snapdragon 835 chipset. The trackpad available on it is similar to the one found on the bigger Vive devices. Since the device is free from cumbersome cables and tracking beacons, the Taiwanese company calls it “world-scale.”
The design of the Vive Focus is similar to Sony’s PlayStation VR and HTC’s Vive Deluxe Audio Strap. It has an attractive blue finish and has a slightly rounded design. According to the official website, the Vive Focus is enabled with WorldSense feature which delivers six degrees of movement such as left, right, up, down, forwards and backwards.
