Vernon Sanders has stepped down as head of current programming at NBC. He has signed a production deal with the network’s sibling studio Universal Television, where he will serve as a producer on the upcoming revival of anthology series “Amazing Stories.”
“This was a not an easy decision, and the next chapter is truly bittersweet. I feel extraordinarily lucky to have worked at NBC during this amazing renaissance,” Sanders said. “(NBC Entertainment Chairman) Bob Greenblatt and Jennifer Salke have been incredible leaders, friends and mentors. One of the most alluring aspects of this new venture is the opportunity to partner with the visionary creators at Universal Television. I look forward to crafting compelling, diverse and big-tent television beside Jen, Pearlena and the rest of the NBCU team.”
Deadline first reported news of Sanders’ departure.
