Police in Montana say a man died after being shot by officers in a shootout that followed an hours-long standoff at a sporting goods store.
BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) – Police in Montana say a man died after being shot by officers in a shootout that followed an hours-long standoff at a sporting goods store.
Billings Police Lt. Neil Lawrence said in a Tuesday statement that an autopsy had determined the cause of death for Frank Joey Half Jr.
Lawrence says no other information will be released on the investigation until an inquest is held to determine if officers were justified in killing Half.
Officials say the 30-year old Crow Agency man smashed a vehicle into the front of Big Bear Sports Center at about 3 a.m. Saturday and barricaded himself inside.
