The bridge shootout scene in “Sicario” is one of the greatest shootout scenes in the history of movies.
The plot of the film is a secret group of FBI, Delta Force operators and a Mexican assassin start taking out cartel leaders in South America.
This eventually leads to the raw FBI agent, played by Emily Blunt, getting into a bridge shootout just south of the American border. It’s bloody, intense and awesome.
However, the scene is criminally underrated. It could be because “Sicario” wasn’t an overly popular video. That’s a very plausible explanation for why more people don’t discuss it as an all time great scene.
I think there’s a much better reason for why people don’t give the epic scene the respect it deserves. It’s the fact the bad guys barely got a shot off.
Like I said, the drug guys get blown to bits by the federal officers before they even knew what hit them. It’s a massacre, and the good guys don’t lose a single person. I think that’s referred to as winning.
It’s truly a shame more people haven’t seen “Sicario” and understood just how badass the bridge scene truly is in the history of film. There’s no way you weren’t on the edge of your seat right when Blunt wasted the masked Mexican police officer.
I don’t want to be your friend if you watched this scene and don’t agree it’s not criminally underrated.
