A woman was killed while driving on Interstate 5 on Saturday.
According to the California Highway Patrol, officers were sent out to I-5 near Lerdo Highway after getting a report at around 6:15 a.m. of a collision in the area. Officers learned that the woman was heading north on I-5 when she began drifting into another lane and crashed into the back of a pickup truck.
After crashing into the truck, the CHP said the woman lost control of the vehicle and it began to roll over. As the woman wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, she was ejected from the vehicle and was found dead at the scene.
The CHP said nobody else was injured in the accident. A lane on I-5 was closed for a time until the accident could be cleared. It is now back open.
