Instagram has lost one of its favorite pooches.
Toast — a rescue dog owned by fashion blogger Katie Sturino and social media star the “ Fat Jew,” who made a name for herself on social media with the account @ToastMeetsWorld — has died, it was announced on Instagram on Friday.
“We’re heartbroken to share the news that Toast has passed,” a statement on Toast’s account read. “This puppymill rescue had an exceptional life. She wrote a book, had a televised wedding, appears on billboards across the country promoting rescue and modeled for an international eyewear campaign.”
The Post had a special role in the Cavalier King Charles’ life, as our own Cindy Adams officiated her wedding to fellow Instafamous pooch Finn, which later aired on “The Real Housewives of New York City.”
“Toast changed my life. Not in a ‘Who Rescued Who Way’, but in a real life altering way,” Sturino wrote in her own social media tribute. “I started Toast’s account because she was literally the cutest dog I’d ever seen, but soon I realized she was destined for fame.”
Sturino and the “Fat Jew” filed for divorce earlier this year, and Sturino kept Toast, as well as the ex-couple’s other two Instafamous canines: Muppet and Underpants .
Friday’s Instagram tributes encouraged the dog’s massive following to donate to a You Caring fund to fight puppy mills and to use the hashtag #ToastMeetsHeaven to share special memories of the pup.
