HMD Global is reportedly planning to launch the 2018 edition of the Nokia 6 smartphone. It is expected to be launched on January 19 alongside the Nokia 9 and the 2018 edition of this year’s flagship Nokia 8. Now, as per recent reports, the Nokia 6 (2018) has been certified by TENNA in China.
According to a report by NokiaPowerUser, the Nokia 6 (2018) has appeared on Chinese certification agency TENNA. The screenshot from the TENNA website features the model number TA-1054 which is the same as we have seen in earlier leak appeared on Baidu.
However, the TENNA listing doesn’t reveal any detailed specifications of the phone, but the reports claim the 2018 version of Nokia 6 will be a major bump in terms of hardware from its current model. HMD launched this year’s Nokia 6 first in China and then launched it in India later in June. So, it is expected to be launched at the same time in 2018 as well.
It is speculated that HMD Global might finally go for the trending bezel-less design for the next year’s Nokia 6. So, the phone is expected to come with a 5.5-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The full-screen display might have on-screen touch navigation buttons and the fingerprint sensor will be on the back. The TENNA listing reveals that it would be a dual-SIM phone.
If we talk about hardware, the new Nokia 6 is supposed to pack Snapdragon 630 or Snapdragon 660 processor as suggested by the earlier leak. Memory wise, it will supposedly pack 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage which will be expandable via microSD.
In the camera department, as per the report, the Nokia 6 (2018) will come with a dual rear camera setup. It will also feature dual-sight or Bothie feature same as we have seen on Nokia 8. The feature allows users to use both the front and rear cameras simultaneously.
HMD Global has scheduled an event in China on January 19. The Finnish company is planning to launch its next year’s flagship Nokia 9, and Nokia 8 (2018). Now, if the reports are believed to be true Nokia 6 (2018) version will also be unveiled at the same event.
