CES 2018: SanDisk unveils world’s smallest 1TB USB Type-C and 256GB flash drives

Seizing attention at the event, SanDisk surprised everyone with its ultra-compact 1TB USB Type-C flash drive alongside a 256GB SanDisk Ultra Fit USB 3.1 Flash Drive. With this latest reveal, one can only think how more effortless it will become to carry around a significant amount of content in our pockets.
At the event, SanDisk did not reveal much information about the 1TB USB Type-C Drive, but the Ultra Fit USB 3.1 Flash Drive was shown off quite much at the stage. The company also introduced two new portable SSDs. Regarding the 1TB USB Type-C Drive, in a demo, SanDisk showed how capable it is for storing huge amount of data and plug it into the PC, Mac, and USB Type-C compatible smartphones. The company claims that data transfer on USB Type-C will be faster than ever.
Sadly, the 1TB USB Type-C Flash Drive is still under development, and at the event, SanDisk displayed the prototype version. So, we will have to wait for some time before planning to lay hands on it and carry an enormous amount of content in our pockets. However, SanDisk promises to make it official soon. For now, the pricing details of the 1TB USB Type-C flash drive are scarce.
Besides, the 256GB SanDisk Ultra Fit USB 3.1 Flash Drive is touted to transfer data at speed 15x faster than the standard USB 2.0 drives while the reading speed is claimed to be 130MBps. SanDisk says that with 256GB storage, users will be able to save around 14,000 photos, 10 hours of full HD 1080p videos and 16,000 songs, and more.
The SanDisk Ultra Fit USB 3.1 Flash Drives will be available in five storage capacities – 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB. The 16GB is priced at $21.99 (approx. Rs 1,400), 32GB at $34.99 (approx. Rs 2,200), 64GB at $59.99 (approx. Rs 3,800), 128GB at $119.99 (approx. Rs 7,600), and the 256GB variant at $149.99 (approx. Rs 9,550).
The two new SSDs launched by SanDisk include My Passport Wireless SSD and SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD. The Passport Wireless SSD comes with a new one-touch card copy feature, which enables editing and sharing of content. While the Extreme Portable SSD is aimed at saving and editing high-resolution pictures and videos faster.
