LG has launched a new phone called the X4+ in its home turf South Korea. Now, the X4+ doesn’t exactly dazzle from a hardware specs point of view, but, that’s not important. The X4+, instead brings some features, that you’d normally associate with more expensive LG phones, that when put together make it quite an interesting package. Some of these features include military-grade durability, LG Pay, and Hi-Fi DAC for immersive wired audio.
The LG X4+ is probably the first phone in its price category to ship with LG Pay, which is LG’s take on Samsung Pay and Apple Pay. It has passed Military-grade MIL-STD 810G tests which include 26 different angle drop tests from chest height, it claims. Also, it packs in a Hi-Fi DAC for enhanced audio via any wired headphones. It’s made of metal and has a fingerprint scanner on the rear that supports Finger Touch to allow users to take selfies and screenshots.
The LG X4+ comes with a 5.3-inch HD IPS display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor coupled with 2GB LPDDR3 RAM and 32GB of internal storage which is expandable by up to 2TB via a micro-SD card slot. It runs Android Nougat and is backed by a 3,000mAh battery. It uses USB Type-C for charging and data syncing.

On the camera front, the LG X4+ comes with a 13-megapixel camera on the rear with and a 5-megapixel camera on the front with a 100-degree wide field of view.
The LG X4+ will be available for buying in as many as two colours: Moroccan Blue and Lavender Violet for 300,000 won (roughly Rs 18,000).
Still, it’s a little disappointing that the X4+ doesn’t ship with LG’s Full Vision display. The Q6 which is an even more affordable phone – and is available for buying in India – ships with one. Also it comes with a 1080p+ screen. But then the Q6 isn’t military-grade certified and does not include a Hi-Fi DAC.
