MARQUETTE COUNTY, MI – A man who’d been arguing with friends got out of a vehicle and walked into traffic, where he died after being hit by a car and trapped underneath it.
Cory DeRocha, 33, was identified by police as the victim in Thursday night’s incident on M-95, according to WLUC .
The Palmer man was riding in a vehicle when he had an argument with a friend. The vehicle pulled over to the side of the road in Humboldt Township about 10 p.m., and DeRocha got out. He then stepped into traffic and was hit by another vehicle, Marquette County Sheriff’s officials said.
DeRocha was trapped underneath that vehicle, which was being driven by an Iron Mountain teen.
Rescue workers had to lift the vehicle to extricate DeRocha, WLUC said. He died at the scene.
