Microsoft today formally announced the launch of its Xbox One X gaming console in India at a media event held in New Delhi. Earlier this month, Microsoft had revealed that the console would go on sale in the country on January 15 th but it was later confirmed that the actual release date would be January 23 rd instead. The console had made its global debut only in November last year.
The Microsoft Xbox One X has been priced at Rs.44,990 in India and will be available for purchase starting today from Amazon India, Flipkart, Croma, Landmark, as well as the Microsoft India store. In addition to these, the console will also be available from over 100 speciality gaming stores across India.
The console’s key rival, the Sony PlayStation 4 Pro, is priced at Rs.38,990 in India but is yet to be widely available in the country. Sony had in fact launched the PlayStation 4 Pro in India back in February last year. Almost one year on, it is almost impossible for gamers to get their hands on one with official Sony India warranty.
