Obama talks about his 'dad moves' in interview with David Letterman

‘Everybody here knows dads who get out of the pocket, and they’re trying stuff that they can’t really pull off. They start doing like karate kicks’
Former President Barack Obama has some solid advice for dads dancing on the edge of embarrassing their daughters: “Stay in the pocket.”
In an interview, Obama, who admitted to having “dad moves,” divulged that one time he was on stage with music legend Prince and managed to keep his cool and not leave his younger daughter Sasha completely mortified. Dads, take notes.
According to the former commander in chief, Prince, whom the Obamas loved, took the stage at the White House “three or four months before he died,” which would place the “Purple Rain” crooner’s performance somewhere around the winter of 2016.

“Prince asks Sasha to come up and dance, and she’s an excellent dancer,” continued Obama in a video clip teasing his interview with David Letterman on the veteran talker’s new Netflix show, “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction.”
“Then Sasha pulls me up — which surprises me because she always mocks my dancing,” added Obama.
“I think the key is what we call staying in the pocket,” the former president concluded, “because I think everybody here knows dads who get out of the pocket, and they’re trying stuff that they can’t really pull off. They start doing like karate kicks and all kinds of stuff.”
So no karate kicks while on stage with Prince. Got it.
Obama’s interview with Letterman kicks off the former “Late Show” host’s monthly series premiering on Netflix on Friday.
