The Blizzard World update is now live in Overwatch, bringing with it over 100 new cosmetics. Here’s a look at some of them, including many of the new skins.
Today marks a big day for Overwatch fans. Not only is the new Blizzard World map now live in the game, but the latest update has also added over 100 new cosmetic items for players to unlock. And unlike many other new cosmetics added to the game since its launch in 2016, these aren’t tied to a limited-time event.
Players can start unlocking the new cosmetics in Overwatch right now across all platforms. While the new skins are likely the biggest draw, players can also unlock impressive new emotes, highlight intros, sprays, and more. For anyone that has previously unlocked all of the customization items for their main character, this new cosmetics update could give them a lot more incentive to focus on leveling up and earning loot boxes again.

As previously stated, the new skins are likely the biggest draw for Overwatch fans in terms of cosmetics. The Kabuki Hanzo skin and the young Reinhardt skin in particular stand out, but the new Pharah skin and the Diablo-inspired Butcher skin for Roadhog are also impressive.
As far as the other new cosmetics go, one that seems like it will be fairly popular is Sombra’s new emote. Called Marioneta, this new emote can be earned at random through loot boxes or purchased for 250 coins. It features Sombra busting out an adorable Reaper puppet, and using it to mock the ultra-serious mercenary.
Overall, this new update should have something in store for all Overwatch players, regardless of their favorite character. Between the mountain of new cosmetic items and the addition of the Blizzard World map, today’s update stands as one of the most substantial since the game’s launch, and it will be interesting to see if it brings back lapsed players and helps to grow Overwatch‘s community.
Overwatch is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
