With only a month to go before the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+, we now have a closer look at the design of these devices. Renowned leakster @evleaks has revealed the first press renders of both these smartphones along with some specifications and release date. The Galaxy S9 and the S9+ will resemble their predecessors, thanks to an 18:9 bezel-less screen as seen in the images above. The phones will be released on March 16, but it isn’t know whether this is the worldwide release date or only for the South Korean market.
These upcoming flagship smartphones will have the same display sizes as that on the Galaxy S8 and S8+, which means that you will get to see a 5.8-inch display on the Galaxy S9 and 6.2-inch screen on the Galaxy S9+. The phones will use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC’s (in the US and Chinese markets, respectively), whereas the rest of the world will have a choice of the Exynos 9810 chipset. Regarding the memory, the base model could feature 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage, while the S9+ will come with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. Recently, it was also revealed that Samsung might release a 512GB storage variant of the Galaxy S9+ in the few markets and in limited quantities, but remains to be seen if the brand has any such plan in the works.

Moving onto imaging capabilities of the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+, both phones could have a reimagined camera with top-notch performance as per the company’s official launch invitation. The Galaxy S9 will have a single rear-facing 12-megapixel camera, while the S9+ will sport a dual 12-megapixel camera setup on its rear. They will have a variable aperture setup (ƒ/2.4 and ƒ/1.5). Furthermore, the rear shooter will also offer “super slow-motion video” capture at 720p resolution and 480fps. At the front, both smartphones will feature an 8-megapixel cameras. The devices will also use AKG-tuned stereo speakers at the bottom and the top. No doubt, the phones will be IP68 certified for dust and water resistance.
