Huawei’s sub-brand Honor had announced that the company will add the Face Unlock facial recognition feature to the budget smartphone soon. The device will use software algorithms and the selfie camera to recognize the user’s face. We expect it to be rolled out as a part of the Android 8.0 Oreo based EMUI update.
Honor 7X is one of the bestselling affordable smartphones in the country. The device does have highlights such as a dual camera setup, a full-screen design with 18:9 aspect ratio display, a good battery backup and more. However, it the device misses out some features those are seen in many other devices.
At the CES 2018, Huawei’s sub-brand Honor had announced that the company will add the Face Unlock facial recognition feature to the budget smartphone soon. Honor 7X does not have any dedicated facial recognition sensor as seen on the iPhone X, the first phone to arrive with this feature. For this reason, the device will use software algorithms and the selfie camera at the front to recognize the user’s face.
The company is yet to disclose when this update will reach the Honor 7X but we can expect the same to be rolled out as a part of the Android 8.0 Oreo based EMUI update. This update can be expected to hit the smartphone sometime in the first quarter of this year.
