He’s currently in Milan, but is expected to be moved.
LANSING, MI – Ex-MSU Dr. and sexual abuser Larry Nassar has been transferred to a federal correctional facility in Milan, south of Ann Arbor.
He was transferred out of Eaton County Sheriff custody and into federal custody on Thursday, said Eaton County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Jerri Nesbitt.
Nassar was sentenced to 60 years in federal prison for the possession of child pornography. On separate state charges of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, he was sentenced to 40-175 years in an Ingham County case and 40-125 years in an Eaton County case.

The sexual assault charges stem from multiple incidents where Nassar would, often under the guise of medical treatment, digitally penetrate the vaginas and anuses of women and girls as young as six.
The federal prison in Milan houses just over 1,400 male inmates and is considered a low-security federal correctional institution.
He will likely be transferred from that location, according to his attorney, Matthew Newburg.
Newburg said that although those in federal custody can sometimes put in requests for specific locations, Nassar has not done so.
The release date for Nassar, who is 54 years old, is listed as 2069. After that he would theoretically be transferred to the Michigan Department of Corrections to serve sentences on the state crimes, but he would need to make it to over 100 years old for that to happen.
He likely will not serve any time in state custody absent a successful appeal, Newburg said.
