ABC’s upcoming “Roseanne” reboot is the focus of a “20/20” special on Thursday, but the outspoken star has once again found herself defending her support for President Donald Trump.
“He talked about jobs. That’s what you need to do if you want working people to vote for you. Not Syrian airspace,” Barr says in a preview clip for the special. “I don’t think Hillary talked about jobs much. She was always just talking about Syrian airspace. Do you think people in America care? Maybe they do, I didn’t, though.”
“Trump offended half of America and she offended the other half, so that’s great for sitcoms,” Barr continued. “It’s great for comedy. We’re lucky to have him as a president, it’s great for comedy.”

Her come after a heated panel at the Television Critics Association press tour last month, where Barr said her character on the show would be a Trump supporter.
Barr said her character, Roseanne Conner, and husband Dan (John Goodman) will support Trump because she’s always wanted the sitcom to be “a true reflection on the society we live in.”
“So I feel like half the people voted for Trump and half didn’t, so it’s just realistic,” she said. “I’ve always attempted to portray a realistic portrait of the American people and the working class people. And, in fact, it was working class people who elected Trump. So I felt like, yeah, that was very real, and something that needed to be discussed.”
The “Roseanne” revival returns to ABC for an hour-long premiere on March 27.

An Empire Today study, which is exclusive to TheWrap, priced popular television show residences as if they were listed on a short-term rental site, a la Airbnb or VRBO. The home improvement company then cross-referenced the fictional characters’ homes to actual comparable listings on those real rental sites.
