The next addition to the battle royale genre is Fear the Wolves, a title developed by Vostok Games – the developing team behind the S. T. A. L. K. E. R. franchise – and published by Focus Home Interactive, which is set in the radioactive area of Chernobyl.
After the sudden success PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has brought to the battle royale genre, it was only natural that more titles would emerge this year. The next addition to the genre is Fear the Wolves, a title developed by Vostok Games – the developing team behind the S. T. A. L. K. E. R. franchise – and published by Focus Home Interactive, which is set in the radioactive area of Chernobyl.
In Fear the Wolves’ release news post, there’s no big words, no huge announcements, and no gimmicks. The game will be a classic 100 player post-apocalyptic First Person Shooter Battle Royale title where the environmental dangers of Chernobyl will play a huge role. As expected there will be a twist in the game, to make it different than any other competitor. Fear the Wolves’ description reads:
Overall, Vostok Games has proved that they can pull off a perfect first-person shooter game set in radiated environments. It now falls to whether this setting can be turned into a battle royale title and manage to win people over PUBG and Fortnite Battle Royale.
The post reveals that more details on Fear the Wolves will be unveiled to attendees at the What’s Next de Focus press event in Paris, February this year. Developers at Vostok Games will be available there for interviews and presentations to share more information about their upcoming hardcore Battle Royale shooter.
Fear the Wolves comes to PC and Consoles in 2018. Early Access begins this year on PC.
