Police: Incident stemmed from argument during large party
A 29-year-old Port Huron man is hospitalized with multiple gunshot wounds after a shooting early Saturday morning on the city’s south side.
The incident happened about 2 a.m. Saturday, said Port Huron Police Sgt. Doug Decker.
A 32-year-old Port Huron man turned himself in at about 5 a.m. Saturday at the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office and is being held in the county jail. Specific charges have not yet been determined.
Decker said it appeared the was a large party in progress at a residence on the 2700 block of Moak Street. An argument started outside the residence and ended in the alleged shooting, he said.
The alleged victim was taken to Lake Huron Medical Center and later was airlifted to St. John Hospital in Detroit, Decker said. The injuries appeared to be non-life-threatening, Decker said.
A handgun allegedly was used in the shooting, Decker said.
The department’s Major Crime Units is investigating the incident.
Road patrol officers responded to the incident.
