After decades of rock ‘n’ roll as the frontman for The Who Roger Daltrey is “very, very deaf,” but that’s not going to slow him down.
After decades of rock ‘n’ roll as The Who frontman, Roger Daltrey is “very, very deaf.” Luckily, it’s not going to slow him down.
During a recent solo performance in Las Vegas, Daltrey revealed that his many years of performing have finally worn on him and admitted that he now struggles to hear, TMZ reports. The British rocker even said he has to use in-ear monitors and has started lip reading because his hearing has gotten so bad.
“I’m very, very deaf believe it or not,” Daltrey can be heard telling the crowd in between songs. “And I advise you all–you rock ‘n’ roll fans–take your f**king ear plugs with you go to the gigs. If only we’d known when we were young.”
Despite the debilitating ailment, which especially impacts a singer, Daltrey plans to keep on rocking and probably still sounds better than most.
