RPG and High Schools, this is something that has been a common setting lately for many JRPGs but now we have other developers going in this unique blend of genre as well. This is evident by the upcoming RPG game Super Daryl Deluxe that is yet again set in a high school.
The game features a unique way of telling you the story and gameplay mechanics, which results it being an RPGvania. Coupled with fun looking game mechanics and brawler-style combat, the game looks fun with the visual tone it is set in. If you have been missing a Bomberman game for quite some time then Bombslinger is here for you. It follows the same game style but the difference is the environment in which Bombslinger is set it. It is set in the old Wild West where you take on a role of a bandit named Bombslinger.
Funny enough he has a villainous brother called Gunslinger responsible for destroying his ranch and murdering his wife. Now Bombslinger is out to get revenge on his brother all Bomberman style. It has been in Early Access for quite some time and the game looks fun with some solid explosive action. Now the game is coming out of Early Access and launching across all major platforms.
Yakuza 6: The Song of Life – April 17,2018 Platform: PS4
The seventh installment in the Yakuza series, Yakuza 6: The Song of Life has been out in Japan since December 2016. However, the rest of the world can also experience this title in April 2018 finally after a long delay. Sega’s take on GTA and that too in the world of Japanese underground has built a very big fan base now and this is certain as the seventh installment in the franchise is about to come out.
Yakuza 6 boasts a completely new engine for the game. Visually the game looks amazing and the environments are beautifully designed while keeping the Yakuza spirit alive in the game.
With the new engine, the game also has a new combat system with a new extreme mode, which helps you in dealing with different types of mobs in the game. Overall, the game looks promising but the only downside is the 30 fps instead of last game, Yakuza 0 ’s 60 fps.
Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia – April 19,2018 Platform: PC
Total War is one of the most authentic video games based on history and feature massive battles with turn based, real-time strategy gameplay. The latest installment in the Total War franchise is Thrones of Britannia, which brings the award winning RTS experience back in its full glory.
The game is set in 878 A. D., which was a crucial time for Britain. You can take control of any one of ten factions ranging from Anglo-Saxons, Welsh Tribes to Viking Settlers and wage in epic wars for dominance and survival. The game looks amazing and with the stellar titles in its backlog, it looks like Sega has done justice to the franchise with Thrones of Britannia.
God of War – April 20,2018 Platform: PS4
We have been waiting for a long time for a new God of War game and it is now time that the game is almost upon us. Probably one of the most anticipated games of 2018, God of War will be coming this April finally. Ever since the initial reveal at the E3 and more images and videos teasing us of the game, we were almost out of our seat trying to get our hands on it.
The saga continues with Kratos and his young son, Atreus, who are now again embarking on an epic journey across a world of Norse mythology where Atreus learns a lot about his father’s past. Along the way, Kratos must make sure that his son survives while teaching him the ways of a god. God of War features stunning graphics and stellar gameplay mechanics. It also comes with full PS4 Pro support and enhanced 4K visuals for maximum eye candy.
Nintendo Labo – April 20,2018 Platform: Nintendo Switch
Nintendo Switch has taken the world by storm and it has surpassed all other consoles when it comes to sales. It features probably the most innovative feature of combining mobility and console gaming which no other console has been able to do for a long time. With no AAA titles at launch, it really showed the world that simple and fun games still hold a place in these times when everyone else is obsessed with visual fidelity and competitive gaming.
The newest accessory by Nintendo for Switch is called Nintendo Labo, which is basically a combination of card boards and other materials which will be converted in different items such as a robot back pack, a fishing rod or a racing wheel. These boxes will then house the Switch’s Joy Cons and use them as sensors with in-game inputs.
This is again a very simple yet fun idea that looks promising so far. You can build these peripherals yourself at your home with the materials provided. The demos that Nintendo has shown us so far look amazing and we cannot wait to get our hands on it to try it for ourselves.
The Swords of Ditto – April 24,2018 Platforms: PC, PS4
The Swords if Ditto might look like a cute little RPG but it is one of the most challenging RPGs out there. Apart from regular RPG elements like creating a hero and levelling it up, it also features a full-fletched character system where every hero you create is a unique one and has his own journey to defeat the evil Mormo.
