NEW DELHI: Huawei will be introducing its first-ever smartphone with three rear cameras, called the Huawei P20 Pro in India within next few hours. It will also be taking the wraps off its P20 Lite smartphone at the event in New Delhi.
The P20 Pro that was introduced earlier this year during MWC 2018 conference, is the company’s flagship for this year. However, the Huawei P20 Lite did not see the light of the day at the event so there are no details about its specifications. Out of the two, the ‘Pro’ model has top of the line specifications and is expected to be priced equally ‘premium’. Nonetheless, the two smartphones are already being teased by Amazon India, indicating it to be exclusive to the particular e-commerce website.
The P20 Pro’s highlight, as we mentioned above, is the three rear cameras. The setup includes a 20MP monochrome sensor with f/1.6 aperture, 40MP RGB camera with f/1.8 aperture and an 8MP telephoto camera with f/2.4 aperture. The cameras together aim to deliver sharp and vibrant images, even in low light environments. All three cameras use Leica-made lenses.
The Huawei P20 Pro also has the ability to record videos at 960 frames per second in HD, same as the Samsung Galaxy S9 and the S9 Plus.
At the front, there is a 24MP camera with f/ 2.4 aperture with 3D lighting modes and bokeh effect as well.
The company has also introduced the ‘Notch’ with the P20 Pro and the Lite. The P20 Pro has a 6.1-inch FullHD+ OLED display and a fingerprint sensor below. The company is marketing its dual tone ‘Twilight’ colour the most ever since the launch.
Running Android 8.1 Oreo-based EMUI 8.1, the smartphone packs octa-core Kirin 970 processor supported by 6GB RAM and 128GB inbuilt storage. The device is backed by a 4000mAh battery so we expect it to run for around 12 hours approximately, given the efficient processor and FullHD+ display. The battery also support fast charging.
