By now we know that Apple will be launching three new iPhones this year, one out of which will be the successor of the iPhone X. Alongside these mainline iPhones, the Cupertino major is also planning launch a cheaper iPhone which will reportedly be the successor of the iPhone SE, aka iPhone SE 2. For now, not a lot is known about the iPhone SE 2, but a new report has now leaked to reveal that Apple may most likely launch the cheaper iPhone model at WWDC 2018 event.
The 2018 Apple Worldwide Developers Conference is scheduled to take place in June. The event this year will kick start on June 4 and will continue until June 8.Apple will most likely launch the iPhone SE 2 at WWDC. This means we can expect the Cupertino major to launch the iPhone SE 2 in the month of June.
Ahead of the launch of the iPhone SE 2, Consomac managed to discover a new filing with the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) that lists a few iPhone model numbers which have not been launched yet. To be specific, ECC listing in total reveals 11 iPhone model numbers namely — A1920, A1921, A1984, A2097, A2098, A2099, A2101, A2103, A2014, A2015, and A2016. The report reveals that all the 11 iPhone models have not been announced yet. Meanwhile, Apple Insider also points out that none of the mentioned iPhone model numbers has been used for other devices yet.
The ECC listing doesn’t mention any name of the devices though. The report reveals that these model numbers aren’t of that of iPads as Apple recently launched a new tablet just a few weeks ago at its education summit. Neither are these the mainline iPhone models since Apple usually announces the high-end iPhones in the second half of the year, and the same will be followed this year as well. So, this definitely indicates that the listed model numbers could be that of the iPhone SE 2 instead. However, Apple is yet to confirm the launch timeline of the phone.

Not a lot has been rumoured about the iPhone SE 2 as of yet. But, what we do know is that the device will be an affordable one, much like its predecessor iPhone SE which is currently selling for around Rs 17,999 approx in the Indian market. Past reports reveal that the iPhone SE 2 will be Made in India and will be completely assembled in the country just as the iPhone SE. Reportedly, iPhone SE 2 will be manufactured in India by Wistron — the same company which started assembling the current generation iPhone SE in Bengaluru in 2017.
As for the specification details, iPhone SE will be powered by Apple’s A10 processor – which was last seen in the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus and come with 2GB of RAM and 32/128GB of internal storage. Meanwhile, according to what a KGI analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo had claimed that the second generation iPhone SE will be a highly incremental update with just a specification bump and minimal design changes. We can expect iPhone SE 2 to come with the same 4-inch display as the iPhone SE, a glass rear panel and support wireless charging.
