It seems the OnePlus 6 is just around the corner.
It seems the OnePlus 6 is just around the corner. Until now, reports had hinted that OnePlus could launch the OnePlus 6 sometime around the end of April or first week of May. But now, a report coming from Money control reveals a mid-May release date for the OnePlus 6. According to the new report, OnePlus 6 will be launching in India on May 18. It is still worth noting that OnePlus is yet to officially announce the launch date of its next flagship device — the OnePlus 6.
Alongside the tentative launch date, the new report also reveals the pricing details of the OnePlus 6. The upcoming OnePlus flagship is expected to have a starting price tag of Rs 39,999. In contrary, a report from the past had revealed that the pricing of the OnePlus 6 could start from Rs 34,000 for the 64GB storage model, while the high-end version of the phone with 128GB of internal storage could cost around Rs 39,000. These are all tentative pricing details, and we will get to know the exact pricing of the upcoming OnePlus 6 only during the launch. But what we know for sure is that the OnePlus will cost slightly more than the OnePlus 5T, which is currently available at a price tag of Rs 32,999 in India.
What we know so far
Ahead of the launch, OnePlus itself have been teasing the OnePlus 6 for quite a while now. The company released a video last week confirmed that the OnePlus 6 will be water resistant. To explain the water resistant capability of the OnePlus 6, the company, took to Twitter last week to post a video teaser with a caption – “Don’t you just hate it when you have to stop using your phone when it rains? So do we.”
OnePlus on Thursday announced a strategic partnership with Marvel Studios to celebrate its 10th anniversary with the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War that is set to release worldwide on April 27. The partnership also hints at the coming of a special OnePlus 6 Avengers: Infinity War edition.
OnePlus has also confirmed that the OnePlus 6 will follow the latest trend and come with iPhone X like notch on top with minimal bezels on the sides and bottom. The company CEO Pete Lau also revealed that users will be able to hide the notch by blacking out the sides of the screen around it. This feature, as Lau had mentioned in a blog post on company’s official forum earlier this month, would be pushed out later via a software update. The OnePlus 6 will also come with updated OnePlus software called Oxygen OS.

OnePlus has also confirmed Snapdragon 845 processor of the OnePlus 6. The company posted a video teaser last month noting that OnePlus 6 will be a fast phone. Past reports revealed that the OnePlus 6 could launch in two variants – similar to that of the OnePlus 5T. The cheaper variant is likely to come with 6GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage, while the high-end model is tipped to come with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. We are expecting both the models of the OnePlus 6 to hit the Indian shores.
Another teaser video that surfaced online last week revealed that OnePlus 6 will also come in a new Coral Blue colour. The teaser video also suggested that the OnePlus 6 will be exclusive to Amazon India as far as the Indian online market is concerned. Though, we believed that the phone will also be available through OnePlus offline stores and the company’s offline partners. The teaser also reveals two rear cameras for the OnePlus 6 – where the primary camera will include a 16-megapixel image sensor, while the secondary camera using a 20-megapixel sensor.
