First daughter Ivanka Trump has the dubious honor of gracing the cover of British punk rock band Gang of Four’s latest musical offering. But the new album, with a launch date of April 20, is not meant as a tribute to Trump — who once confessed to emerging from a “punk phase” about two decades ago.
According to web music mag Pitchfork, “Complicit” represents the band’s social critique of Trump as being part of the moral problem that her father has created as president.

Gill says it is “receding traditional media” that “the Trump family despise.”
The inspiration for the title of the album may have come from an interview from April 2017 that aired on CBS, when host Gayle King asked Trump inquired about whether Trump and husband Jared Kushner were “complicit in what is happening to the White House.”
Trump turned the tables on King. “If being complicit is wanting to be a force for good and to make a positive impact, then I’m complicit,” Trump responded, adding that she would “weigh in with my father on the issues I feel strongly about.”
