Samsung has given its mid-range Galaxy C7 Pro ( review) smartphone a price cut in the Indian market, making it a better buy than before. The smartphone was launched in the country in April last year with a price tag of Rs.27,990 but its price had fallen to Rs.24,900 recently. Samsung has now reportedly announced a Rs.2,500 price cut, bringing the Galaxy C7 Pro’s price further down to Rs.22,400. The information was first shared online by Mahesh Telecom, a popular Mumbai-based phone retailer.
The Samsung Galaxy C7 Pro, which was previously available for Rs.24,900, is now available for Rs.22,400 after the latest price cut. As some of you be aware, the Galaxy C7 Pro is available exclusively via Amazon.in in the country. Amazon India has updated its listing, so you will be purchase one online for the new Rs.22,400 price tag. While the Galaxy C7 Pro is still listed for Rs.24,900 on the Samsung India website, you will be able to get Rs.2,500 cashback if you purchase the smartphone from Paytm Mall.
The Samsung Galaxy C7 Pro features a 5.7-inch 1080 x 1920 Full HD resolution Super AMOLED display with 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 4 layer on top. As you would expect from a mid-range smartphone, the Galaxy C7 Pro comes with a full metal body and boasts a thin 7mm profile. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 chipset clocked at 2.2 GHz with an Adreno 506 GPU to take care of all the graphics processing. When it comes to memory, the Samsung Galaxy C7 Pro is equipped with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. Samsung has opted for a Hybrid Dual SIM configuration on the Galaxy C7 Pro, so you will need to insert a microSD card in the SIM 2 slot in case you wish to expand the storage further.
In the camera department, Samsung Galaxy C7 Pro features a 16MP rear camera with dual-LED flash and an f/1.9 aperture lens for good low-light performance. In terms of video, the rear camera can capture videos at up to 1080p Full HD resolution with a frame rate of 30 frames per second. For selfies, the Samsung Galaxy C7 Pro features a 16MP sensor on the front with an f/1.9 aperture Connectivity features offered by the smartphone include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, NFC, USB Type-C, and 4G VoLTE. The smartphone packs a 3300mAh non-removable battery inside with fast charging support, allowing users to get a few hours of usage from just 20 to 30 minutes of charging. In terms of physical size, the Galaxy C7 Pro measures 156.5 x 77.2 x 7mm and weighs in at 172 grams.
The Galaxy C7 Pro includes a fingerprint sensor as well, embedded inside the physical home button on the front. While the smartphone lacks full Samsung Pay support, it does support Samsung Pay Mini. With Samsung Pay Mini, users can make easy and secure payments using Paytm and MobiKwik wallets. Payments can be made using Show Code, Scan Code and Send Money options in the Samsung Pay Mini app. You can also transfer money using the Unified Payment Interface (UPI).
The Galaxy C7 Pro was launched last year with the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system out of the box. Samsung began pushing the Android Nougat update for the handset late last year globally, while in India the update arrived in January this year. While Samsung hasn’t confirmed it officially, the Galaxy C7 Pro is expected to be updated to Android 8.0 Oreo OS sometime later this year.
