Xiaomi is once again doing what it’s best known for — launching smartphones with amazing new features but at affordable prices. Xiaomi has just unveiled its most anticipated Mi 6X that has been appearing in rumors, at a media event in China, the phone likely to make its way to global markets as the Mi A2, the successor to the Android One-based Mi A1.
The phone is a powerhouse when it comes to the processor, in a reasonable $250 price segment it is the first device that features Snapdragon 660 chipsets. The phone packs a 5.99-inch FHD+ panel, up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, microSD slot, IR blaster, Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 5.0, and a 3010mAh battery.
As far as cameras are concerned, the Xiaomi Mi 6X offers a dual 12MP + 20MP camera setup at the back, along with a 20MP sensor at the front. The dual camera comes with AI enhancements for over 200 scenes, including 12 different portrait modes. Meanwhile, the front camera has a Selfie LED light module and the latest version of Beautify.
The Mi 6X runs the latest version of MIUI 9 on the top of Android 8.1 Oreo. Another welcome change is the addition of USB-C, as well as the inclusion of Quick Charge 3.0.
Xiaomi has introduced Mi 6X in five different color options which includes red, blue, black, gold, and rose gold. The phone comes in three variants in terms of storage and RAM. The base variant with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage will retail for $250, whereas the version with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage will cost around $280. The model with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage will set you back to $315 only.
The phone is currently available for sale in China and considering the point that Xiaomi has a special focus on emerging markets like India and Pakistan, we will likely see the phone making its debut in these markets in coming weeks.
