After Thursday’s Department of Justice Inspector General’s report, which found former FBI Director James Comey “deviated” from the agency’s procedures in his handling of the Hillary Clinton email probe, President Donald Trump broke his silence on the report.
“The IG Report is a total disaster for Comey, his minions and sadly, the FBI,” he tweeted Friday morning. “Comey will now officially go down as the worst leader, by far, in the history of the FBI.”
“I did a great service to the people in firing him,” he continued. “Good Instincts. Christopher Wray will bring it proudly back!”

The president also laid into FBI agent Peter Strzok and former FBI lawyer Lisa Page, as the report also revealed additional anti-Trump text messages between the two, including one in which they declared “we’ll stop” then-candidate Trump from winning the election.
“FBI Agent Peter Strzok, who headed the Clinton & Russia investigations, texted to his lover Lisa Page, in the IG Report, that ‘we’ll stop’ candidate Trump from becoming President,” he wrote. “Doesn’t get any lower than that!”

In Thursday’s report, Inspector General Michael Horowitz found that Comey tarnished the FBI’s reputation of impartiality, but found he didn’t act on his own political bias.
He also dismissed the notion that Strzok and Page let their personal opinions affect their actions in the special counsel’s investigation into alleged Russian collusion.
