Oppo’s offshoot Realme has revealed a new smartphone, the Realme 2. The look is completely uninspired, being near identical to other notched display phones, and will start at ₹8,990.
It was only a few months ago that Realme introduced its first handset, the Realme 1. Now, it looks like the firm is already releasing a successor, dubbing it the Realme 2.
The new handset will include a large 6.2-inch 720p LCD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor, and will come with the option of 3GB or 4GB RAM. The 3GB RAM model will have 32GB of internal storage, while the 4GB RAM variant will have 64GB of internal storage. Both models will be able to expand their storage via microSD.
The phone will have a dual camera setup on the rear, making use of 13MP and 2MP sensors. The front-facing camera will be an 8MP sensor and will be used to perform facial unlocking of the device. The Realme 2 will also incorporate a traditional fingerprint scanner on the rear. While its specifications might not be impressive, at least it packs a large battery, coming in a 4,230mAh, which can be charged via Micro USB.
The Realme 2 will be running Android 8.1 Oreo and come in three colors: Diamond Black, Diamond Blue, and Diamond Red. Sales for the phone will start on September 4 at a starting price of ₹8,990.
