J. Cole’s hometown of Fayetteville, NC, has been particularly hard-hit by Hurricane Florence.
J. Cole ’s nonprofit, The Dreamville Foundation, is raising money to help those affected by Hurricane Florence in his hometown of Fayetteville, NC.
“The Dreamville Foundation is looking to lend a helping hand to the community, children, and families affected by Hurricane Florence,” the foundation said on a page set up on its website for donations . “There will be hot food stations placed throughout the city, temporary housing options for families, and stocking of food pantries/shelters.”
Fans are given the option of donating $10, $25, $50 or another amount of their choosing. The foundation also said it intends to direct money toward other local nonprofits aiding the people of Fayetteville.
Hurricane Florence, which hit the Carolinas last week, has claimed at least 37 lives. Though the storm has passed through the region, flooding remains a major issue.
The hurricane also forced the cancellation of the inaugural Dreamville Festival last weekend. The concert, which J. Cole was set to headline along with performances by Big Sean, SZA, Young Thug and Nelly, will be rescheduled at a later time.
