Motorola has finally set September 10 as the date for the launch of the Moto G6 Plus in the country.
Back in July, Motorola confirmed that the Moto G6 Plus would come to India soon, but there was a brief silence in August where we did not hear anything about the launch date, perhaps seeing how the month was busy with new phones from Nokia, Samsung and Xiaomi, among others. Now, Motorola has finally set September 10 as the date for the launch of the Moto G6 Plus in the country. The company announced the date through its social media account with a short clip that gives a quick glimpse of some of the best features about the Moto G6 Plus.
The Moto G6 Plus comes a few months after the Moto G6 and G6 Play were brought to India. The Plus model slots above the Moto G6 in the trio as it brings a bigger display, more RAM and a faster processor, among other things. Much of the outer design will look similar to the G6 including a glass rear panel and circular camera setup. The G6 Plus also sports a tall 18:9 Max Vision display with narrow bezels. Notably, the Plus model gets a 5.9-inch FHD+ display which is slightly bigger than the 5.7-inch display on the Moto G6.
The Moto G6 Plus is powered by a Snapdragon 630 chipset and this will be coupled with 6GB of RAM as per the video teaser. This variant could be offered with 64GB of internal storage with support for storage expandability. The G6 Plus also sports a dual rear camera setup that includes a 12-megapixel primary sensor, while the secondary camera comes with a 5-megapixel image sensor. Motorola teases good low-light performance and features like selective black and white, spot colour and portrait mode. The phone will also get native Google Lens support.
Up front, the Moto G6 Plus brings an 8-megapixel selfie camera with support for face unlock. The phone houses a 3,200mAh battery with turbopower charging support. The fingerprint sensor will be embedded in the home button on the front and the device is expected to ship with Android Oreo out-of-the-box. Considering the competition in the market right now, we expect the G6 Plus to be priced well below Rs 20,000.
